Gallery North celebrates the watercolor works of Kim Caldwell this December featuring her lively show Coastal Wanderings. This new series of glowing landscape paintings on handmade paper will enchant any viewer. Each painting glimmers on gold and silver gesso prepared surfaces, adding a rich patina and extraordinary depth.

Kim Caldwell is a veteran artist who combines her 23 years of painting experience with her infectious enthusiasm for continued learning and experimentation. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and teaches at her Dreamscape Studio in Mountlake Terrace. Kim is also an Associate Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and an Active Member of Seattle Co-Arts. Her work is included in private collections in the United States, Ireland, and Japan.

A Touch of Magic is now showing at Gallery North featuring the paintings and prints of Rob Schouten. Rob will be on hand for the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk on November 19th from 5-8pm. Come and enjoy his beautiful work as well as a wonderful variety of fine art from our local artists.

Excitement is building here at Gallery North as December approaches.
Kim Caldwell's show "Coastal Wanderings" will open December 1st. You can meet the artist during the reception on Saturday, December 5th 1pm to 4pm.
This newest collection of paintings are inspired by recent travel adventures here in the Northwest, Ireland and Hawaii.
This painting "Tranquil Cove" is from the Inland Strait and is a watercolor painted on gold gessoed handmade paper.

EDMONDS GARDEN TOUR PAINTINGS

Gallery North holds a special reception as a follow-up to the July 19th Edmonds in Bloom Garden Tour. If you participated in the tour perhaps you noticed the artists painting plein aire in those beautiful private gardens at this wonderful Edmonds event. Well, here is your opportunity to visit with those artists in person, enjoy a few refreshments and see the finished products these twelve artists completed.
Participating professional artists are: Bonnie Aubuchon, Clifford Burkey, Kim Caldwell, Brenda Hall, Ruth Handewith, Cheryl Hufnagel, Peggy Jacobs, Autumn Kegley, Christine Meshew, Anne Moon and Sam Spencer.
This special group of paintings will be displayed at Gallery North the entire month of August in the “Featured Artist” room. Please join us anytime throughout the month, especially at the very popular Third Thursday artwalk (August 20, 4-8 PM.) The gallery, conveniently located next door to Starbucks, features arts and craft shows that change monthly and is staffed by participating artists.

New Works, New Art

Gallery North artists gathered on Sunday, January 11th to celebrate the beginning of 2009 with their featured show titled New Year, New Works. Friends of the gallery and community members stopped by to see the show that includes new paintings and craft items from Gallery North member artists. The show will run through the month of January with another celebration on Edmonds Artwalk night, January 15th from 5-8 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Featured Artist - November 2008 - Keith Artz


Gallery North's featured artist this month is Keith Artz, showing an elegant and eye-popping collection of paintings titled "Kiss My Glass." Mr. Artz recently won a finalist award from International Artist Magazine for his painting titled "Not Your Three Minute Eggs." His artist's reception was Sunday, November 9th and Keith Artz will also be at Gallery North for the third Thursday Edmonds Artwalk on November 20th.

Sue Coccia Opens Her Show

Sue Coccia, our May 2008 featured artist, has created a special show at the gallery displaying many of her wonderful original mixed media drawing as well as other items for sale. An artist's reception will be held at the gallery on Sunday, Mother's Day from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Sue as well as to enjoy her colorful and unique art work. Light refreshments will be served.

April 2008 Featured Artist Reception

This month's featured artist is Melanie Jorissen who is presenting "Paper On The Edge" at Gallery North. The show provides a wonderful display of quilled paintings created using Melanie's own techniques of paper cutting, curling, and folding. The paintings often include mixed media and take paper from a simple support component to an amazing medium.
